Extra Information about
Dunnigan Hills:
Parking/Registration:
When you come off the freeway (Hwy
5, Yolo exit), the main parking area is the large gravel lot on the right just
after Road 99W (stop sign). Portable toilets are here, (USE THEM!) and the
start will be here. Do not park along 99W or road 17 at all. However, registration
is several blocks away. After the RR tracks, turn right on the first
street (becomes
Sacramento street
), and follow it through a jog to a right turn
onto
2nd Street
. Registration is at
Cache
Creek
High School
,
at 2nd and Clay. There are lawns, water, and flush
toilets here, and street parking. Results will be here as well. There
is a market in town, on
First Street
, one block farther east, and open at
8 a.m.
No gas station in Yolo. There is a restaurant
across the tracks from the main parking area. Do not warm up where the
signs say not to, and pay attention to trucks and other traffic, unlike last
year; please ride single filw when any cars are
around. Also, after
finishing, you must ride single file back to Yolo;
violators may be disqualified. Remember, cars still need to get through, too.
Feed
Zones: There are two
feed zones on the course. The first is on Road 19, 1/2
mile west of road 95B (first hill on course). Park on the
gravel away from the road on the right alongside the vineyard at the bottom of
the hill. This feed zone is only a few miles into the race, so won't be
much help for the one-lap racers, but we'll need
help handing up neutral bottles. You'll be on the course out to the feed zone,
following Road 17 west, then left on road 95A, and
right (straight) on Road 19 to the feed.
The
second feed zone is on Road 85 at Road 11, about half way around the course.
Park off the road (preferably on one side only of Road 11 -- don't block it).
We'll have neutral feeding here too, and help is needed. To drive there, take
Hwy 5 north to
Zamora
, and then take Road 13 west (becomes 14) to
Road 85, and north to 11. You'll be on the course once you cross the 505
freeway, so go early .
Finish
Line: The finish line
will take place on Road 96, just south of 99W, 1 mile northwest of Yolo.
After a right turn from 99w, and a climb and descent of a freeway overpass,
the finish is flat and full road. No riders will be returning through the
finish line as last year, as there is a route back towards the finish which
stays off the course. There is no parking at the finish line, but there
is some room for parking on 96 just north of 17, south of the finish.
